The articles must have been published or accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed international journal up to 24 months after the date of the initial application for the Phase 2 examination.
ONE first author publication and ONE second publication where authorship can be stated as an author in any position in the list of authors. These publications should demonstrate application of scientific methods on subjects that are relevant to Veterinary Clinical Pathology. At least one publication must be an original research article while the other can be a Case Report with literature review, a Technical Note/Brief Communication or a What is Your Diagnosis publication.
The applicant must be practising in a European country, with the intent to remain in Europe for the foreseeable future. Applicants must first provide proof of their ACVP residency (minimum 3 years), completion of the ACVP board exam and two publications which fulfil the ECVCP residency publication requirements (See detail for FAQ above). If these are deemed acceptable then the applicant must pass the ECVCP recertification process, by attaining 100 points for the activities outlined on the ECVCP Recertification Application Form (ECVCP AGM attendance not required, the two publications noted above do not count again towards points).

They will be removed from the EBVS specialist register. They may still use the title of diplomate but not the title of EBVS European Specialist in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. They may not act as a residency program director or supervisor.
They need to fulfil the recertification requirements for the five year period prior to their application to recertify.
